As the Covid-19 pandemic wears on, most of us have been shaken in unprecedented ways by the global upheaval. However, pandemics have a long history and we have much to learn from the past. From early plagues in the Roman Empire to the medieval Black Death, pandemics have been a means of revealing what lies beneath the surface in society and human hearts. What might this history reveal to us about life in a pandemic today? How can we act in ways that encourage more humanity, not less?.
